Oliver Ames football defeats Archbishop Williams in season opener

The Oliver Ames High football team secured a 14-6 victory over Archbishop Williams on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, in Easton. Oliver Ames opened the scoring in the first quarter when Ryan Loring caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jack Giovanello following a fumble recovery. The Tigers added to their lead in the third quarter after a punting error resulted in a safety for the home team. Desahn Walker extended the advantage to 14-0 with a 60-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Archbishop Williams responded with a 66-yard touchdown pass from Thomas Prifti to Michael Boyle shortly thereafter, but the subsequent 2-point conversion attempt failed. A late fourth-down sack by Aiden Ayoub stopped the final Archbishop Williams drive to secure the result.
