Orioles fall to White Sox, drop to season-low eight games under .500

The Baltimore Orioles lost 8-2 to the Chicago White Sox on June 29, 2026, marking a return to a season-worst eight games under.500. The Orioles had recently shown signs of improvement, winning 10 of their previous 14 games, but have struggled, losing five of their last seven series. Despite a strong start from Shane Baz, who pitched seven innings with six strikeouts, the bullpen faltered late, conceding six runs over the final two innings. The Orioles managed only two runs in the game, both from sacrifice flies, and could not muster any rallies following the third inning.
