Orioles hire new GM Jared Banner amid offseason changes

The Baltimore Orioles have officially hired Jared Banner as their new general manager. Banner's appointment follows a press conference earlier this week, where he began outlining strategies for the team after a disappointing season. The Orioles remain in a period of transition, with changes in the front office indicating a potential shift in approach. As baseball heads into an offseason with looming labor negotiations, the organization now focuses on how to improve ahead of the 2027 season. The team currently has the fifth-longest championship drought in MLB history, having last won the title in 1983.
