Packers beat writer denies trade talks for Josh Sweat with Cardinals

Rumors linking the Green Bay Packers to a trade for Arizona Cardinals edge rusher Josh Sweat have been dismissed by Packers beat reporter Matt Schneidman. The speculation originated from a report suggesting the Packers were negotiating a deal, contingent on salary cap considerations and draft compensation. Schneidman clarified that Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has not engaged in any discussions about acquiring Sweat. The misinformation surfaced amid other significant trades across the NFL, including the Patriots acquiring A.J. Brown and the Rams trading for Myles Garrett. Sweat has posted two double-digit sack seasons and is entering a pivotal phase of his career as the Cardinals rebuild.
