The Miami Dolphins acquired quarterback Kyle McCord from the Green Bay Packers for a 2028 sixth-round pick on August 28. McCord, a 23-year-old who played the entire preseason finale for the Packers, completed 22-of-35 passes for 226 yards and four touchdowns. With McCord's arrival, he is expected to serve as the backup to Miami's starting quarterback Malik Willis. The Packers still have Tyrod Taylor as a backup for Jordan Love and may look to add another quarterback to their roster. The trade reflects the Dolphins' strategy to build depth at the quarterback position.
