Panthers team reporter discusses potential signing of Bobby Wagner
Summary

Carolina Panthers team reporter Darin Gantt addressed inquiries about free-agent linebacker Bobby Wagner. Despite Wagner's impressive performance in 2025 with the Washington Commanders, where he started all 17 games, Gantt believes Wagner's role may not fit the Panthers' younger roster. Wagner, a 10-time Pro Bowler, may lack the versatility needed for the Panthers' defensive scheme. Carolina has been focusing on youth, with only a few players in their 30s. Wagner's past connections with Panthers officials do suggest a possible interest, but timing appears to be a key issue regarding a deal.
