Patriots place tight end Julian Hill on IR after A.J. Brown trade

The New England Patriots have placed tight end Julian Hill on injured reserve after acquiring A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles. Hill, signed to a three-year, $15 million deal this offseason, will miss the entire season due to an unspecified injury. His absence creates an opportunity for rookie Eli Raridon to take on a larger role at tight end. Raridon, the Patriots' third-round pick, recorded 48 receptions for 623 yards and three touchdowns during his time at Notre Dame.
