Peoria Liberty rallies for victory against Corner Canyon

Peoria Liberty defeated Corner Canyon 38-14 on Friday, Sept. 4, in a high school football matchup. After falling behind early in the third quarter following a fumble recovery touchdown by Ryce Palepoi, the host Lions scored 24 unanswered points to secure the win. Sophomore quarterback Jason Haines sparked the comeback with a 31-yard touchdown pass to Carter Rothe and finished the night responsible for four of his team’s scores. The victory serves as redemption for Peoria Liberty, which lost to the Utah-based Corner Canyon 45-14 during the 2025 season. Peoria Liberty moves to a 2-0 record on the year while Corner Canyon falls to 3-1. The Lions are scheduled to host Gilbert Highland on Friday, Sept. 11.
