The PGA Tour has announced the addition of a Greensboro, North Carolina event to its Championship Series beginning in 2028. This event, which will be titled The GO by Raymond James, is a historic tournament formerly known as the Greater Greensboro Open. Starting in 2027, it will gain new sponsorship and hosting privileges, transitioning to a Championship Series format that features 23-24 events, including major competitions. The tournament currently held in August is expected to move to the spring in 2028, with plans for significant renovations at Sedgefield Country Club, its longtime venue. The full 2028 schedule will be unveiled in late January.
