Phillies trade for Luis Arraez; Blue Jays acquire Jose Soriano

The Philadelphia Phillies traded for Luis Arraez from the San Francisco Giants ahead of the trade deadline. Arraez, an offensive standout with a.324 batting average this season, will shift the Phillies’ lineup with Bryson Stott moving to third base and Bryce Harper returning to the outfield. The Blue Jays have acquired pitcher Jose Soriano, who has displayed improvement this season. The deal suggests a long-term outlook for the Blue Jays, while the Phillies aim to strengthen their current roster. One notable prospect going to the Angels in exchange is shortstop Arjun Nimmala, a promising player working on his hitting consistency.
