Pirates place Kirby Yates on injured list and recall Khristian Curtis

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed right-handed pitcher Kirby Yates on the 15-day injured list due to a right shoulder impingement, retroactive to August 31. To fill the opening on the pitching staff, the team recalled right-hander Khristian Curtis from Triple-A Indianapolis. Yates has appeared in 13 games for Pittsburgh since his acquisition from the Angels, recording a 2-0 record with a 2.19 ERA. Curtis has previously appeared in two games for the Pirates this season, throwing eight scoreless innings. In other roster moves on Wednesday, the organization recalled right-hander Wilber Dotel from Indianapolis and optioned left-hander Evan Sisk.
