Pistons prepare for backcourt competition between Daniss Jenkins and Ebuka Okorie

The Detroit Pistons enter the 2026-27 season with an open competition for the backup point guard spot. Jenkins, who struggled with rim finishing during his rookie campaign, has spent the summer working on floaters and layup technique with skills coach Jeremie Hart to improve his interior scoring. Meanwhile, Okorie has focused on his own development, including training sessions with Donovan Mitchell to refine his isolation scoring. The Pistons also added several veteran shooters during the offseason to support Cade Cunningham, aiming to build team chemistry ahead of the upcoming training camp.
