Premier League clubs set record spending during 2026 summer transfer window

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur also featured prominently in the high-expenditure list, though Chelsea maintained a positive net spend. While European leagues such as Serie A, Bundesliga, and La Liga showed more circumspect financial activity, the Premier League’s total outlay surpassed the previous record of $4.17 billion established in 2025. Paris Saint-Germain recorded the largest positive net balance in Europe, largely driven by the sale of Bradley Barcola to Liverpool.
