Priscilla Kelly captures MLP Women’s Canadian Championship from Gisele Shaw

Priscilla Kelly won the MLP Women’s Canadian Championship from Gisele Shaw on the latest episode of MLP Mayhem. Kelly’s victory involved countering Shaw’s offensive moves, culminating in a running forearm smash to secure the title. Card subject to change. Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling is setting up for the Northern Rising PPV on October 3 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. One of the marquee bouts was supposed to be Gisele Shaw defending the MLP Women’s Canadian Championship against Nikki Storm (aka Nikki Cross in WWE). Along the way, Shaw officially signed with the NWA. That seemed to suggest a title change was coming. Little did we know that the title change happened earlier than expected on the latest episode of MLP Mayhem. Controversial wrestler Priscilla Kelly (aka Gigi Dolin in WWE/NXT) was granted a shot to make up for Storm cheating in the #1 contender bout. Kelly made the most of the moment to win the Canadian title from Shaw. Kelly persevered to kick out of the Shock and Awe finisher. Shaw charged for a Shining Wizard. Kelly was quick thinking for a low trip to knock Shaw down to the mat. Kelly followed for a forearm to the back of the head and closed with a running forearm smash to win. Kelly is a two-time tag team champion with Jacy Jayne in NXT. She has won a handful of titles on the indies, and this one is arguably the biggest singles championship of her career. The celebration didn’t last long. Storm wanted to strap Kelly with the belt around her waist. Kelly was rightfully hesitant. Once Storm had the title in her hands, she clocked Kelly with the belt. She also hit Shaw for good measure. MLP made the women’s title bout official for Northern Rising. Shaw is out, and Kelly is in as champion to defend against Storm. As announced last night on #MLPMayhem, the new MLP Women’s Canadian Champion @HellsFavoritePK will defend the title against @NikkiStorm08 at #MLPNorthernRising!
