Raiders waive cornerback Decamerion Richardson to sign Darrell Luter

Summary

The Las Vegas Raiders released cornerback Decamerion Richardson on September 1, 2026, to clear a roster spot for newly claimed cornerback Darrell Luter. Utilizing the team's top waiver priority, Las Vegas brought in Luter following the initial 53-man roster deadline. Richardson, a 2024 fourth-round draft pick, appeared in 15 games last season but did not record significant statistics. The franchise aims to sign Richardson to the practice squad if he clears waivers. While the team remains thin at defensive end following an injury to Keyron Crawford, management appears settled with the current defensive depth. Head coach Klint Kubiak continues to evaluate the roster as the team prepares for its opening game against the Miami Dolphins.
