Rams plan to play Ty Simpson in preseason finale against Chargers

The Los Angeles Rams will have Ty Simpson on the field for their preseason finale against the Chargers on Thursday night. Head coach Sean McVay indicated he remains undecided on the backup quarterback position between Simpson and Stetson Bennett, with Bennett taking nine of 15 reps during practice. Simpson completed 8-of-12 passes for 73 yards in a prior preseason game against the Saints, while Bennett had 181 yards and two rushing touchdowns in that matchup. McVay is assessing their performances to finalize the backup role before the regular season begins.
