Rasheed Walker asserts his candidacy for Panthers' left tackle position

Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Rasheed Walker expressed confidence in his bid for the starting left tackle position during a Thursday press briefing. With regular starter Ikem Ekwonu recovering from injury, Walker sees himself as the top candidate ahead of first-round draft pick Monroe Freeling. Walker, who previously played with the Green Bay Packers, signed a one-year contract with the Panthers earlier this offseason. The competition at left tackle is expected to be one of the key battles in the upcoming training camp.
