Rasmus Hojlund departs Manchester United for Napoli after permanent transfer

Rasmus Hojlund has concluded his tenure at Manchester United following a permanent move to Napoli. The transfer was finalized after Napoli secured qualification for the Champions League, triggering a £38 million buy option. The Danish forward spent the 2025/2026 season on loan with the Italian club before the deal became official this summer. Hojlund made 30 appearances in his first season at Old Trafford with 10 league goals but scored four times across 32 games during his second year. United subsequently acquired Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in August 2025 to lead the attack. Hojlund noted that while the transition between managerial styles and team adjustments proved difficult, he remains satisfied with his time at the club he supported as a child.
