Rays discuss Drew Rasmussen's Cy Young hopes and Junior Caminero's MVP chase

Summary

The Tampa Bay Rays held a roundtable discussion about the performances of Drew Rasmussen, Nick Martinez, and Junior Caminero on July 3, 2026. Rasmussen, with a 2.45 ERA and AL-leading 0.87 WHIP, is considered among the contenders for the AL Cy Young, though some experts believe others may overshadow him. Martinez is also making a push for his first All-Star selection, while Caminero aims to improve on his ninth-place finish in last year's AL MVP race. Analysts suggest Caminero could be a strong candidate if he continues his power-hitting streak. The Rays remain confident as they reinforce their standing as one of MLB's top teams this season.
