Real Madrid faces Malaga with player who rejected their 2023 offer

Summary

Real Madrid meets Malaga in La Liga, aiming for three consecutive wins. They will face Izan Merino, who declined a move to Madrid in 2023 when he was 17. Madrid had offered €250,000 for Merino, but Malaga rejected it, citing a €3 million release clause. Merino has since become integral to Malaga, making over 70 senior appearances and renewing his contract until 2028. His versatility is highlighted by his time as a center-back for Spain's Under-20 team.
