Red Bull is negotiating a deal to add 11-year-old karting driver Robin Raikkonen to its junior development programme. The son of 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen was observed at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza last weekend, where his family visited the Red Bull motorhome. While the team has not formally confirmed the signing, consultant Gino Rosato indicated that discussions are currently active and an announcement could occur this year. Robin competes in the Mini category of the Rotax Max Challenge and currently leads the overall standings. Red Bull’s junior programme, now led by Gwen Lagrue, has produced seven of the current Formula 1 grid drivers.
