Red Sox activate pitching prospect Yordanny Monegro from injured list

The Boston Red Sox activated right-handed pitching prospect Yordanny Monegro from the 60-day injured list on Friday. Monegro returns to the Double-A Portland roster following a recovery from Tommy John surgery, an injury that sidelined the pitcher since June 2025. Before the surgery, he posted a 2.67 ERA with 49 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings during his 2025 campaign. The organization managed his return through a minor league rehab assignment that began in late August with High-A Greenville. He remains outside the 40-man roster as the club prepares for an upcoming series against the Kansas City Royals at Fenway Park. Scouts previously highlighted his curveball as one of the best in the team's system.
