Boston Red Sox top outfielder prospect Justin Gonzales debuted for the Portland Sea Dogs on August 19. He batted 2-for-5 and scored a run in a 7-5 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils. Gonzales, who had a strong season at Single-A Greenville, finished with a.271 average, 17 home runs, and 58 RBIs in 89 games before his promotion. As the Red Sox's No. 2 prospect, he is projected to reach the majors by 2028 if he continues to develop his skills.
