Los Perros del Mal must have dirt on Rey Mysterio. It’s probably not difficult to find considering the AAA general manager is out here attacking paying fans on live television. Plus, who knows what cards Dominik Mysterio has in his vest to play against his father. Dirty Dom would surely be glad to see Rey get fired. Back to the Perros, they are fresh off losing the trios main event at Ola de Calor. Naturally, that makes them next in line for a trios title shot. Say what? Rey announced that the Los Losers del Mal will challenge Psycho Circus for the AAA World Trios Championship at Triplemania 34 Night 1 in Las Vegas on September 11. Un mensaje muy importante del Gerente General de AAA, Rey Mysterio, sobre #AAATriplemania Las Vegas y el futuro del Campeonato de Tercias AAA pic.twitter.com/perX4fzHXp — Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (@luchalibreaaa) August 31, 2026 Rey’s rationale is that Los Perros (Damián 666, Halloween, & X-Fly) were inaugural trios champions by defeating Psycho Circus at Triplemania XIX in 2011. That title reign ended at the hands of Psycho Circus (Monster Clown, Murder Clown, & Psycho Clown) in 2012. The current champs include Panic Clown instead of Psycho Clown, and the current Perros are Daga, Angel, and Berto. As for the winners from the Ola de Calor main event, two-thirds of their plate is full. Penta bested Fenix to earn the WWE world title shot against Roman Reigns for Raw in Mexico City on September 14. It’s reasonable to assume WWE doesn’t want to risk injury to Penta with a match at Triplemania. Fenix will defend the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship in a four-way at Triplemania 34 Night 2 in Mexico City on September 13. A #1 contender bout took place at Ola de Calor, but Mini Vikingo, Jack Cartwheel, and Nathan Frazer wrestled to a barn burning time-limit draw. Fenix was impressed by the skills on display, so he granted all three men the title shot. That leaves Dragon Lee twiddling his thumbs at the moment. The updated lineup for Triplemania 34 includes: Rey Mysterio vs. Omos (suspension over or leave AAA forever) on Night 1 AAA World Trios Championship: Psycho Circus (c) vs. Los Perros del Mal on Night 1 AAA Mega Championship: Dominik Mysterio vs. El Grande Americano on Night 2 AAA Reina de Reinas Championship: Flammer (c) vs. La Catalina on Night 2 AAA World Cruiserweight Championship: Fenix (c) vs. Mini Vikingo vs. Jack Cartwheel vs. Nathan Frazer on Night 2 Mexican Street Fight: Psycho Clown vs. El Carnicero (presumably on Night 2) During the Mega title contract signing, Dominik demanded that Omos be reinstated from suspension with the idea as giant backup for the match. Rey refused. Omos arrived with a ticket in the front row. Tensions heated and fisticuffs erupted. Rey booked himself against Omos with a stipulation. If Omos wins, then his suspension is over. If Rey wins, then Omos leaves AAA forever. La Catalina won the #1 contender gauntlet at Ola de Calor. La Hiedra was a surprise as the final entrant. Flammer accidentally hit her teammate with the title belt, and Catalina took advantage of that for the win. El Carnicero technically lost his debut at Ola de Calor due to excessive violence on his opponent. Psycho Clown ran out with a kendo stick and a challenge for a Mexican Street Fight. This is payback for the monster’s recent attacks on clowns. Other champions without a Triplemania match yet include La Parka with the Latin American title, the War Raiders with the tag titles, and La Hiedra & Laredo Kid with the mixed tag titles. Share your thoughts on the card so far for Triplemania 34. Do you think Los Perros will turn their losing ways around to win trios gold? Which other matches would you like to see fill out the lineup?

When it became clear WWE was headed back to Mexico City for an episode of Monday Night Raw, plans quickly came together for how to make the most of it. What they settled on was a number one contender’s tournament that would feature luchadores from Raw, SmackDown, and AAA. The winner would earn the right to challenge Roman Reigns for the world heavyweight championship in the main event of the big show on Sept. 14 in Mexico. The final of said tournament was held on this week’s episode of Raw in Cleveland, when the Lucha Brothers reunited with everything on the line. Penta defeated Laredo Kid and La Parka to get here while Rey Fenix went through El Fiscal and Dragon Lee. The match was fun, though I would say relatively tame for their usual standards in a spot like this. They set up for Penta snapping Fenix’s arm and being willing to finish the job in the follow up. Rey invited it and used it to spring a trap for an incredible near fall. The Mexican Destroyer came just after, and that’s what scored the pinfall and the victory for Penta. The crowd absolutely adored this by the time it was over, and if nothing else it’s clear if these two were given a bigger stage and more time they would put together a classic. The show closed with Reigns himself walking down for a staredown. The match is SET! 🍿 The OTC @WWERomanReigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against @PENTAELZEROM in Mexico City! pic.twitter.com/8CkfVarn0T — WWE (@WWE) September 1, 2026 Yeah, this is going to rule so unbelievably hard.
