Rhea Ripley retains WWE Women's Title against Jade Cargill in Italy

Jade Cargill got her chance to win the women’s championship back from Rhea Ripley at today’s (Sun., May 31, 2026) Clash in Italy premium live event at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. She lost the title to her at WrestleMania 42, despite her foot soldiers, Michin and B-Fab. The champ has been outnumbered at times since then, though she forged a temporary alliance with Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss to help deal with that. There was never any reason to believe WWE would go back to Cargill as champion, considering Ripley’s continued popularity and teases of going back to the Flair feud, among other hints and nods. Jade was booked competitively, and Rhea gave her quite a bit of offense throughout the match. Even with an outcome that was clear, Jade gave her all, including a fantastic reversal of the Riptide into a DDT that got a two count, leading the commentary team to pronounce “we are witnessing the maturation of Jade Cargill.” It was no surprise Ripley was in a damn good match on a PLE, but Cargill absolutely impressed here and deserves a ton of credit for her continued growth. .@RheaRipley_WWE ERADICATES Jade Cargill in Italy! 👏 MAMI IS STILL THE CHAMP!!! #WWEClash pic.twitter.com/PAJNNq72Yv — WWE (@WWE) May 31, 2026 The finish saw Jade’s goons come down to the ring, immediately save Jade from a pinfall defeat, and get tossed right after. It was then that Flair showed up to get her licks in on the outside while Cargill went about business back inside the ring. She came close to, but Flair was there to put Ripley’s foot on the ropes. Turnabout is fair play and all that. Not long after, Rhea hit the Riptide and scored the pin to retain her title. Good enemies, better friends?
