Richmond defender Josh Gibcus is traveling to the United States to work with reconditioning expert Bill Knowles following a season marred by injury. After a full pre-season, Gibcus sustained a knee injury in April that required surgery in June. The 23-year-old has struggled with various health issues since his debut season in 2022, limiting his senior appearances to four games over the past four seasons. He joins teammate Judson Clarke, who is also visiting Philadelphia for additional preparation after returning from his third knee reconstruction. Richmond is focusing on ensuring both players are ready for the start of the next pre-season under new high-performance manager Selwyn Griffith. Several other Tigers players, including Josh Smillie, Sam Cumming, Jacob Hopper, Tom Sims, and Rhyan Mansell, are also currently managing recovery programs following recent surgeries.
