Rohit Sharma jokes about Shubman Gill's marriage for World Cup luck

Rohit Sharma, on his show Family Full House, joked about getting Shubman Gill married to secure India's chance at winning the ODI World Cup. During a segment with stand-up comic Aakash Gupta, the historical pattern of captains winning the World Cup after marriage was discussed. Gupta pointed out former captains like Ricky Ponting and MS Dhoni, who won World Cups the year after marrying. Anupam Mittal, founder of Shaadi.com, humorously revealed they created a profile for Gill, although Gill declined the idea of marriage at this time. Rohit expressed he would do anything to win a World Cup, maintaining a light-hearted tone while addressing a sore subject for many fans after the 2023 final loss.
