Parramatta Eels five-eighth Ronald Volkman has signed a new contract extending his stay with the club through the end of the 2028 season. The 24-year-old was previously without a deal for next year and drew interest from the Canterbury Bulldogs before securing the extension. Volkman recorded 18 appearances this season, contributing eight tries and ten try assists while establishing himself as a regular playmaker. Parramatta head of football Mark O'Neill credited the stability provided by coach Jason Ryles for the player's development throughout 2026. Despite the extension, the club intends to field a halves pairing of Jarome Luai and Mitchell Moses for the upcoming season, utilizing Volkman as depth. Volkman is scheduled to play in the Eels' final match of the year against the Dragons in Wollongong this Sunday.
