Root emphasizes good role models as England prepares for Pakistan Test
Summary

Joe Root has called on England players to embody positive role models as they begin their Test series against Pakistan at Headingley on Wednesday. This marks the start of Root's second tenure as captain, following Ben Stokes' unexpected retirement and Brendon McCullum's dismissal after a tumultuous summer filled with off-field issues. England's recent history has been marred by disciplinary problems and a series of poor performances, prompting Root to advocate for stronger representation of the team on and off the field. The new coaching staff includes interim leadership from Marcus Trescothick, while Stephen Fleming will take over as head coach.
