Roquan Smith prepares for expanded role in Ravens' new defense

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith is set to adapt to a new defensive system under head coach Jesse Minter during training camp in August 2026. Minter’s 3-3-5 scheme may allow Smith to take on more responsibilities, including blitzing and playing as a spy. The focus will be on mastering the playbook and enhancing defensive execution as the Ravens aim to strengthen their defensive strategy against dual-threat quarterbacks. As training camp progresses, Smith will work to integrate these new techniques with improved pass-rush support anticipated from the front four.
