Royce White discusses WNBA aspirations and claims fear of flying relates to gender

Royce White, a former NBA player, has made headlines by asserting his eligibility for the WNBA, claiming that his well-documented fear of flying is tied to being transgender. During an episode of his podcast, White stated that this fear stems from a 'transgender' part of him feeling trapped. He became the second former NBA player, following Enes Kanter Freedom, to announce plans to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft. While White wore a wig on his podcast, he also engaged in a contentious exchange on social media with former NBA player Robin Lopez regarding their public personas. White was initially drafted 16th overall by the Houston Rockets in 2012 but participated in only three NBA games. He has since moved into politics as a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate.
