Sam Ivins wins Shreveport Times Athlete of the Week poll

Benton cross country runner Sam Ivins earned the title of Athlete of the Week in an online poll conducted by the Shreveport Times, receiving over 21,000 votes. Ivins garnered 47.4% of the total votes, surpassing North DeSoto cheerleader Jaliyah Brown, who finished second with 40.2%. The poll, which is open to various high school sports, recognizes student-athletes outside of football. Ivins’s consistent performance contributed to his selection. He will receive prizes including a backpack and a boxed lunch from sponsors Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and Cosse and Silmon Orthodontics.
