San Diego Wave enters negotiations for loan of Juventus forward Barbara Bonansea

The 35-year-old is under contract with the Italian club, though negotiations for a potential extension through June 2028 are simultaneously taking place. No agreement has been finalized between the parties. Bonansea, a longtime Juventus contributor with over 200 appearances and 15 trophies, would join the NWSL club for the remainder of the regular season. San Diego currently sits 4th in the NWSL table, level on points with the Utah Royals and seeking to solidify its playoff positioning. The proposed arrangement is managed by A&V sports, mirroring a similar loan structure used for Italy international Cristiana Girelli’s move to Bay FC earlier this year.
