Schalke wins friendly against Hessen Kassel but suffers key injuries

Schalke recorded a 5-0 victory in a pre-season friendly against Hessen Kassel on August 1. Goals came from Kenan Karaman, Junior Adamu, Adil Aouchiche, Moussa Sylla, and Satoshi Tanaka. However, the match was marred by injuries to players Robin Gosens and Dejan Ljubičić, both of whom had to leave the pitch. Gosens sustained a heavy challenge early in the game and was substituted after 13 minutes. Ljubičić limped off later in the match. The club remains hopeful that the injuries are not serious as both players exited the field unaided. MRI scans will determine the extent of their injuries.
