Schalmont girls' soccer aims for seventh consecutive Section 2 title

The Schalmont girls' soccer team, led by coach Maurizio Cassano, is vying for its seventh straight Section 2 championship as postseason play begins. The team received the No. 1 seed in the Class A playoffs, entering with a 12-4 record. Senior co-captain Selena Cassano has made a successful transition to a new midfield role after recovering from an injury. Schalmont has adjusted its playing style amid roster changes, now utilizing a balanced attack with multiple scoring threats. The Sabres look to build on last year's state semifinals appearance as they aim to extend their championship streak.
