Seahawks sign linebacker Joseph Vaughn and waive Ja'Markis Weston

The Seattle Seahawks signed linebacker Joseph Vaughn on August 1, 2026, to bolster their linebacker depth. Vaughn, an undrafted player out of UCLA, previously had brief stints with the Indianapolis Colts before being waived this spring. In a corresponding move, the Seahawks waived linebacker Ja'Markis Weston, who is designated for injury. Weston, signed to the practice squad late last season, could revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers. Vaughn's collegiate career includes being a two-time All-Ivy League selection during his time at Yale, where he played for three seasons before transferring to UCLA for 2024.
