The situation unfolded just before the UFC White House card as Strickland snuck into the UFC Fan Fest being held at the Ellipse and he jumped into a ring with fans exploding in excitement after his arrival. A few moments later, Strickland was seen being removed from the event with a cadre of police and security officers surrounding him. Strickland later said he could possibly face a disorderly conduct charge, but it turns out he won’t face any legal repercussions for his actions. On Monday, MMA Fighting confirmed no charges were filed against Strickland and he was never arrested — only detained long enough to remove him from the UFC Fan Fest. As TMZ first reported, Strickland was actually escorted out over safety concerns more than anything else after the crowd turned chaotic after he arrived as an unscheduled guest at the event. To ensure the situation didn’t get out of hand, Strickland was removed and escorted out of the Ellipse but he wasn’t arrested. That brings to an end a week long saga after Strickland claimed he was banned from attending the UFC White House event and he believed it all boiled down to his criticism aimed towards President Donald Trump and his close ties to Israel as well as the ongoing war in Iran. UFC CEO Dana White later disputed Strickland’s remark and said the UFC middleweight champion was never banned but just not invited to attend the event with limited seating availability for the show, which took place on the south lawn of the White House. Still, Strickland engaged in a very public campaign touting his plans to show up in Washington D.C. anyways, which is exactly what unfolded this past week. But in the end, Strickland made plenty of headlines but faces no legal recourse for showing up unannounced at the UFC Fan Fest prior to the UFC White House card on Sunday.
