SEC football programs sweep all season openers in first week of play

Every team in the Southeastern Conference won their respective season opening matchups during the first week of September 2026. The 16-0 conference-wide performance marks the first time the SEC has swept the opening weekend since 1997. Scores across the conference included a 66-21 victory for Florida over Florida Atlantic and a 63-3 win for Georgia against Tennessee State. Ole Miss secured a narrow 41-38 victory over Louisville, while Auburn edged Baylor 17-16. Kentucky recorded a 45-13 win against Youngstown State to contribute to the conference-wide success.
