Shadow Ridge defeats Valley Vista in Battle of the 303 rivalry game

Shadow Ridge secured a 54-0 victory over Valley Vista in the Battle of the 303 on Friday at Shadow Ridge High in Surprise. The Stallions built a significant lead early, scoring 51 points before halftime. Running back Cooper Yackley recorded four touchdowns during the first half of the game. Quarterback Bryan Stowell added three touchdown passes to three different receivers, while the Shadow Ridge defense held Valley Vista scoreless and forced a safety. Despite the win, head coach Michael Zdebski noted that the team must continue to improve as the season schedule becomes more challenging. Valley Vista head coach Ed Cook stated that his young team competed throughout the matchup. Shadow Ridge moves to a 2-0 record and will face Mesa Desert Ridge on September 11, while 0-2 Valley Vista prepares to play Mesa Westwood on the same day.
