Shane Lowry and group experience six-hour rounds at Irish Open

Shane Lowry reported that his opening round at the Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links lasted more than six hours. Playing alongside Jon Rahm and Patrick Reed, Lowry noted that the group hit only two full shots over the course of one hour on the sixth and seventh holes. High winds contributed to the challenging conditions for the entire field. The pace of play persisted into the second round, where the same trio took two hours and 30 minutes to complete their first eight holes. Despite the duration of the play, Lowry finished his first round with a three-under par 67 and holds a lead of eight-under par early in his second round. Rory McIlroy also commented on the slow pace of play during the tournament.
