Shaq Mason remains free agent after NFL clears him of discipline

Shaq Mason is eligible to sign with an NFL team immediately after the league confirmed he will face no discipline regarding a 2025 arrest. The NFLPA informed the veteran offensive lineman that the investigation into his legal matters is closed. Mason was arrested in August 2025 on domestic assault allegations, but those charges were dropped in April. He has been out of the league since the Houston Texans released him in March 2025 and did not play last season. A fourth-round draft pick in 2015, Mason spent seven seasons with the New England Patriots, winning two Super Bowl titles. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022 before his two-season stint with Houston. Over his professional career, the veteran has logged 152 appearances and 147 starts.
