Shawn Michaels discusses talent turnover and rebuilding in WWE NXT

WWE NXT head of creative Shawn Michaels stated that 2026 has presented a significant challenge for the brand due to a high volume of talent call-ups to the main roster. Performers including Oba Femi, Je'Von Evans, Trick Williams, Sol Ruca, and Fatal Influence transitioned from the brand throughout the year. This turnover forced the creative team to rebuild the roster, particularly within the men's division. Michaels noted that additions such as Cruz Montana, Grayson Waller, and Zilla Fatu have provided a boost while challenging the existing roster members to elevate their performance. Speaking on Busted Open Radio following NXT Heatwave, he expressed pride in the current talent for adapting to the increased pressure. He believes the brand maintains positive momentum as it approaches the final months of the year.
