Sheehan defeats Killingly 40-6 in high school football season opener

Sheehan opened its 2026 high school football season with a 40-6 victory over Killingly in Wallingford on September 10. The Titans relied on a dominant ground game, rushing for 348 yards and six total touchdowns to secure the win. Senior running back Zack O'Brien led the offense with 183 yards and two rushing scores, while quarterback Tyler Costanzo added 83 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Mason Johnson anchored a physical performance for the Sheehan lines on both sides of the ball. Killingly’s only score came on a 40-yard touchdown pass from Jaden Barnett to Braydee Testa in the first half. This matchup featured two programs coming off championship game appearances during the 2025 season. Sheehan enters the remainder of the schedule at 1-0, while Killingly falls to 0-1.
