Slovakian archer Denisa Baránková dies in traffic accident

Denisa Baránková, a two-time Olympian and gold medalist at The World Games, died after being struck by a car in Bratislava on June 21. The 24-year-old was near a parking lot when a 42-year-old driver lost control, hitting her and another pedestrian. Baránková was taken to University Hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The Slovak Archery Association expressed deep sorrow at her passing. Baránková competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Games, and her legacy includes her gold medal from 2025.
