South Bend Cubs and Quad Cities River Bandits begin playoff series in Iowa

The South Bend Cubs travel to Davenport, Iowa, to face the Quad Cities River Bandits in the opening game of their best-of-three Midwest League divisional series. First pitch for the postseason opener is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The Cubs entered the playoffs as the first-half West Division winners with a 77-51 record, which ranked as the best mark among all 12 teams in the league this season. They feature Josiah Hartshorn, who holds single-season franchise records for both home runs and RBIs. This best-of-three series continues with Game 2 in South Bend on Thursday, Sept. 10, and a potential deciding Game 3 on Friday, Sept. 11. The winner of this series advances to face either Dayton or Great Lakes in the championship round starting Sunday, Sept. 13.
