South Central pitcher Chase White commits to play baseball at ECU

South Central right-handed pitcher Chase White announced his commitment to join the East Carolina University baseball program on September 9, 2026. White selected the Pirates over offers from Auburn, North Carolina, NC State, and South Carolina. The Greenville native cited his family ties to the university and the local community as primary factors in his decision. White noted that a personal interaction during the 2019 NCAA Regional at Clark-LeClair Stadium helped solidify his choice. He previously played for South Central and will now prepare to join Cliff Godwin’s program. The commitment serves as a homecoming for the pitcher who has long identified the university as his preferred collegiate destination.
