South Dakota football and volleyball polls updated on August 24, 2026

The South Dakota Prep Media Football Poll, released on August 24, shows no change at the top in the seven classes. Class 11AAA, 11AA, and 11A teams maintain their preseason rankings. Elk Point-Jefferson, Parkston, Freeman, and Dell Rapids St. Mary remain first in their classes after winning their opening games. The volleyball preseason poll also ranked Harrisburg and Chester as top teams in Class AA and Class B, respectively. Dell Rapids leads in Class A following last year’s championship loss. The soccer poll confirms Sioux Falls Lincoln and Harrisburg leading their Class AA divisions as the season progresses.
