Southeast High School recognizes former athletes at Hall of Fame celebration

Southeast High School will host its 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame celebration this Thursday at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing in Sarasota. The event honors a group of standout athletes and the 1985 "Bushwackers" football team, which remains noted for being the first Noles squad to defeat top-ranked Manatee. Inductees include Steve Battle, Faust DeLazzer, Martin Cavillo, Briana Phillips, Nikkieda Rutland, Jawarski Pollock, and Dyral McMillan. Each honoree holds significant school records or career achievements spanning basketball, track, and football. Tickets for the ceremony are available through an online portal for local community members and alumni.
