Southern Miss cancels 2030 home football game against Mississippi State

Southern Miss football will not host Mississippi State for a nonconference game in 2030, a spokesperson confirmed on August 26. Originally part of a home-and-home series, Southern Miss was also scheduled to visit Starkville in 2031. Instead, the teams will now meet only in 2029 at Davis Wade Stadium. The cancellation is part of Mississippi State's shift to a nine-game SEC schedule, which has already resulted in multiple nonconference game cancellations, including those against Memphis. Both teams continue to schedule other nonconference matchups around their revised plans.
