Spain and Iraq played to a 1-1 draw at the Estadio de Riazor in La Coruna on June 4 as part of Spain's World Cup preparations. Ferran Torres scored for Spain in the 16th minute, but Iraq equalized through Merchas Doski in the 28th minute with a lobbed shot. Spain struggled to create chances in the second half, with a notable save from Iraq's Ahmed Basil denying them a winning goal. This match marked Spain's first warm-up ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they aim to improve before facing Peru next week.
